Just a big party. This photographer has stood in the exact same spot that this photo was taken, and filmed Santa Clause parachuting into this field in almost gail force winds, but today, another first.Three carloads of folks with four dogs piled out of their trucks and started playing football in the field. |

This beautiful German Shepard named Scout, enjoyed playing ball and fetching sticks with three other dogs and their owners. before they all ventured into the fields in search of the perfect tree. |

The Moment... Joe Rosa reacts as he crosses the finish line in the Meet of Champions and breaks his own coarse record, running the coarse in a sensational time of 14:55:52
|
By The Trentonian
HOLMDEL — There never was any doubt Joe Rosa of West Windsor-Plainsboro North would win the NJSIAA Meet of Champions boys cross country title yesterday at Holmdel Park.
The only question was whether he would break his course record, go under the ‘‘unbeatable” 15-minute mark, and join twin Jim as the first brother team to run 1-2 at Jersey’s biggest meet.
Those questions were answered in record style as Joe ran the Holmdel Park 3-mile course in a sensational 14:55.52 to claim his first Meet of Champions gold medal.
By surpassing the 15:04 course record he ran here earlier this season, Joe Rosa left no doubt he is Jersey’s greatest high school runner ever, and as some predict, future Olympic medal winner.
Joe’s run, which broke the MofC meet mark of 15:15.2 set by Craig Forys of Colts Neck in 2006, was followed by Jim Rosa, who carded a 15:14.22 time — second fastest in Meet of Champs history.
The Rosas’ biggest day yet in the Garden State, set the pace for Colonial Valley Conference runners, with Group IV champ Caroline Kellner finishing fourth in the girls race at 18:36.39.
In the 38th annual Boys MofC race WW-P North came in third as a team with 118 points behind Don Bosco (78) and Christian Brothers (86), with Group I champ Robbinsville 16th at 414.
As Joe Rosa came out of the woods and down the final hill to the finish, the big crowd knew he was on a record pace and cheered him on loudly.
“I could hear the crowd when I came out of the woods going crazy so I just kept pushing it in the whole way,” he said. “As I got close to the finish and saw 14:50 I knew I was going to get under. It’s feels incredible to do something never done before.”
Last season Joe Rosa was second at the MofC to Millburn’s Tyler Upland by seven seconds at 15:46.92. As a freshman he saw WW-P South’s Brian Leung establish himself as the CVC’s best runner ever with a winning 15:32.08. Joe was 16th that year in 16:17.50 for coach Brian Gould’s team.
Yesterday he used those previous MofC runs for added incentive to make history on a day that also saw 11 runners follow the Rosa’s lead and break 16:00. Jim Rosa’s 15:14 time became the second fastest in Meet of Champs annals.
Joe said after he ran the 15:04 here at Shore Coaches he felt he could get under 15 minutes if he kicked harder at the finish.
“I was out there trying to run as fast as I could today and got what I was hoping for,” he explained.
Spurred on by their CVC comrades, the other Mercer County MofC qualifiers also had a big day.
WW-P South’s Sam Macaluso was 11th (15:58) and Brian Schoepfer 15th (16:04), Mercer County champ Jon Squeri of WW-P North 39th (16:33), Casey Dalrymple of North 59th (16:50), Brian O’Toole of Robbinsville 107th (17:41) and Ed Cunningham of North 108th (17:41).
The girls’ race saw Kellner get within 41 seconds of favored Chelsea Ley of Kingsway who won in 17:55.
Emily Scott of WW-P North was 14th (19:01), Christa Strycharz of Steinert 32nd (19:32), Julie Jablonski of Hopewell Valley 34th (19:37), Jenna Cody of Princeton 44th (19:49.21) and HoVal freshman Casey Quinto 45th (19:49.50)
